Okay, so this evening, I jogged properly... per Body+Soul magazine recommended. I took it easy so I wouldn't have to deal with 3 weeks of sore knees again (i.e. hell).
And instead of music on my iPod Shuffle, I'm listening to Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows. I've read it before, which is a good thing, as I find my brain drifts off from time to time. It's great though, cause before I knew it, I was already around Lake of the Isles in no time!
Now the plan is to do the jog/walk routine for a few weeks, until my knees/shins/ankles toughen-up!
Hooray for progress!

Blah...
This weekend sucked... mostly. Normally I would try to articulate myself well, but I just don't have the energy to care at the moment — so here it is, short and sweet:
Shitty sleep, drama-filled paintball, low energy, unrelenting desire for something I can't have, ditched by a friend (again), movie plans fell through, and a gorgeous weather day wasted.
Now I have a migraine.

2009 Updates
Paintball season has started again! I got to use my new gun today — his name is Dexter. :D
It's a Tippmann Platinum 98. Very sturdy and powerful!

On a side note, I jogged over a week ago, and my knees are still a bit sore/swollen from it. I really over-did it though... so I'd recommend if anyone is starting to run after 10 years of not doing it, to only jog 10 minutes a week, max, for a month! Start slow, even though you may feel okay. Of course, I read an article a few days ago saying this very thing... too late for me though! The article talked about how running IS good for your body, if done properly (like any exercise or sport). It said your joints are the only living tissue in your body without blood cells, so in order to work them out and release toxins, they need that compression. Plus jogging is very good for your heart, and my cardio really needs a revamp!
A couple co-workers of mine are also doing the 100 Push-Up Challenge. http://hundredpushups.com/
It sounds fun! I'm also going to do crunches along with it, too. I was able to do just barely 6 push-ups (real ones, not on the knees), and about 25 proper crunches. We're starting tomorrow... should go well! :)
Think I'll be biking mostly this week, to continue and wait for my knees to repair fully. I can't tell you how motivated and excited I am to get back into shape!!! It's just frustrating to have to take it slow, though...
I am also thinking about getting a Personal Chef for a month, four days a week, lunch and dinner. I'm currently price checking, and I'll have to dip into my savings/tax-refund to do it, but if it means getting my body back into eating healthy, well-balanced meals, and probably losing some weight because of it, then it's totally worth it! I had planned to cook on Sunday's to prep lunches for the work-week, but so far, I haven't had time and/or have been lazy and not going to the grocery store. I'm so bad at those things... and I get very bored very quickly with the things I know how to cook.
More updates to come later on all my Get Back Into Shape 2009 progress! :)

Relief
It's amazing how something as small as cracking my windows open this weekend, can brighten my attitude immensely! Warm weather makes me soooo happy and inspired... I think I need to move to a warmer climate. :)

Reactions
I'm not a religious person at all, nor do I believe in the traditional 'heaven/hell' afterlife; but occasionally, a TV show or movie will touch on a deeply religious theme, and completely overwhelm me with an emotional reaction.
This particular conversation is from Lost, season 2, episode 'Three Minutes'.
---
Michael: I hear you're a priest.
Eko: Yes.
Michael: Guess you believe in hell, then.
Eko: For a brief time, I served in a small parish in England. Every Sunday, after Mass, I would see a young boy waiting at the back of the church. And then, one day, the boy confessed to me that he had beaten his dog to death with a shovel. And he said the dog had bitten his baby sister on the cheek, and he needed to protect her. And he wanted to know whether he would go to hell for this. I told him that God would understand. That he would be forgiven as long as he was sorry. But the boy did not care about forgiveness. He was only afraid that if he did go to hell, that dog would be there waiting for him.

New Dreads!
I got dreads again! I didn't forget what a painful process it was, either... 2 hours of hair pulling/twisting, then another 1.5 hours of chemicals and head throbbing! But it's worth it. :)
It's at the first stage of growth, so right now they're thin, curly and short...

But eventually, they'll look like this again! :D

Halloween 08!
Good food, good company, good drinks... rockin' costume! :D

Pretty close, right? :)

Hooray for special contacts! They were the most expensive part of my costume...

I lasted a good four hours with the mask and contacts, as they were both not very comfortable. But alas, one must suffer for such things sometimes! :)
